Former Pakistan president General Pervez Musharraf is now in a position to leave Pakistan following Thursday's Sindh High Court ruling to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
A two-judge bench of the SHC, comprising Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Shahnawaz, issued the order, the Dawn and The News reported.
The bench further said parties opposed to the ruling had 15 days to appeal against it.
Earlier on May 29, the high court had reserved its ruling on Musharraf's plea, the reports said.
The Nawaz Sharif-led government had opposed the petition of the former president, contending that his name had been placed in the ECL on the direction of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in connection with a case of high treason, and maintained that the high court did not have the jurisdiction to entertain and adjudicate on the matter.
