The mother of Oscar Pistorius' murdered girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp said that the Paralympic sprinter walked straight past her in court, denying her the opportunity to look him in the eye.
Pistorius, who is charged with the murder of the blonde model on Valentine's Day last year, pleaded not guilty to the murder charge on Monday.
According to News24, June Steenkamp, who travelled from Port Elizabeth to attend the trial in Pretoria, said that she came to court as she wanted Pistorius to see her, the mother of the woman he shot dead, adding that the Blade Runner never looked her way, looking straight away after walking past her in the court.
Steenkamp was not in court on Tuesday as her husband Barry, who suffered a minor stroke last month, could not travel to Pretoria, and she further said that she had never met Pistorius and that her daughter's relationship with the double-amputee sprinter was brief.
Steenkamp also said that she and her family only want to know the truth of what happened that fateful night, although she added that it is important to forgive Pistorius as she does not want to live with bitterness in her life.
