Sweet exchange ceremony called off at Wagah border on Aug. 15

With tension prevailing at the border, the traditional exchange of sweets between the troops of India and Pakistan along the Wagah border on August 14-15 has been called off.
Earlier last month, the Pakistani Rangers had refused to accept the sweets offered by the BSF on the occasion of Eid.
Border guarding forces of the two countries have been following a tradition of exchanging sweets on festivals at the International Border in Jammu and along the Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar in Punjab.
