Syed Asif Ibrahim appointed special envoy for counter-terrorism and extremism

Former Director of the Intelligence Bureau Syed Asif Ibrahim was on Friday appointed as Special Envoy for Counter-Terrorism and Extremism in National Security CouncilSecretariat.

Ibrahim's appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC).

He will be in the rank of Secretary to the Government of India during his tenure. The appointment has been made for a period of three years.
