ANI General News

Asserting that Pakistan is using Taliban to gain influence in Afghanistan, India and many other countries of the region, Defence expert Qamar Agha on Tuesday expressed hope that the United States takes note of it.

"Pakistan has been doing it for quite some time, all of us know that Talibans are proxy of Pakistan military establishment. And Pakistan is using Taliban to gain influence in Afghanistan, India and many other countries of the region. It is a well established fact," Agha told ANI here.

"We have been telling to the international community that Taliban has been used by Pakistan against India, Iran and other countries. And now it has been confirmed by the CIA chief. I hope the American establishment takes note of it and takes some action against the Pakistani military establishment," he added.

Pakistan uses militants as proxies to counter India's growing influence in Afghanistan, according to a set of documents released by WikiLeaks from the hacked personal email account of CIA Director John Brennan.

The documents contained reports on Afghanistan and Pakistan, and also ideas for the US policy towards Iran.
