Five Sri Lankan refugees were on Monday arrested by the Customs officials after they tried to illegally return to their native country.
They were living in Aanayoor Refugee Camp in Madurai. The arrest was made at Ooththtathalai Seashore.
The arrested people after interrogation were handed over to Danuskodi police.
Investigation in the case is underway.
