Tortoise beats rabbit in Chinese skiing race

The ancient tale of the tortoise beating a hare in a race recently came true when a tortoise actually overcame a rabbit in a skiing competition held on the snowy slopes of northern China.

The competition allowed 40 human competitors to place their beloved pets on skis or sleds or guide it with a lead while skiing, so that they could reach the finish line, News.com.au reported.

While the hare loved jumping and didn't follow its owner's commands, the shelled reptile hitched a ride on its owner's ski equipment and finished the race faster.
