US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that there would be no cooperation with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad despite the common interests in defeating IS militants.The United States has dismissed the possibility of coordinating any US airstrikes with Syrian government to fight the Islamic State (IS) militants while American officials were told to design a campaign that would avoid Syrian air defenses or organize it through a third party.
She said that the US would not ask the Syrian regime for their permission on the matter of airstrikes.
According to the Washington Times, US President Barack Obama has not decided whether the airstrike would be launched in spite of surveillance flight authorization that came yesterday.
Syrian foreign minister warned on Monday that the US should seek Syria's approval before propelling any airstrikes.
