UK airline hosts inflight performance of Shakespeare's plays

An attempt to officially recognize April 23 as National Shakespeare Day on his 450th birthday

In an attempt to officially recognize April 23 as National Shakespeare Day, a UK airline hosted an hour-long performance of Shakespeare's plays on his 450th birthday this week.

The surprised passengers travelling from Gatwick, England, to Verona, Italy, on board an EasyJet flight were treated with inflight performance of abridged versions of every comedy and tragedy penned by Shakespeare, CNN reported.

The act was put together by three actors from the Reduced Shakespeare Company.

The airline is also hoping to set a new Guinness World Record for the highest ever theatrical performance.
