Welcoming U.S. President Barack Obama's praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to shake up India's 'bureaucratic inertia', Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said that countries across the world were realizing the potential of India and the latter's able leadership.

"Narendra Modi ji has brought back the leadership, has brought back governance and bringing development that is being recognized worldwide. India is being recognized and respected by one and all, I am happy that even American president has acknowledged it second time. Country after country, leader after leader is realizing the potential of India and the able leadership of our Prime Minister," Naidu told media persons here.

"But unfortunately our opposition, which has been given the mandate to be in opposition, has failed to recognize this," Naidu added.

As per reports, the US President, at a business round table attended by top corporate leaders in Washington, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to shake up the 'bureaucratic inertia' in India, shortly after he described the latter as a 'man of action' at the G-20 summit in Brisbane.

President Obama, however, added that it was a long-term project and it remained to be seen how successful the Indian Prime Minister would turn out to be.
