Wawrinka reaches Dubai final after Kyrgios withdrawal

French Open champion Stan Wawrinka remained on course for his second title of the year as he advanced to the Dubai Championship final after Australian rival Nick Kyrgios pulled out of the game citing back pain on Friday.

The Swiss tennis star was leading 6-4, 3-0 when Kyrgios decided to quit the game, which ended the Australian's nine-match winning streak, Sport24 reported.

Wawrinka will next face either sixth seed Feliciano Lopez or former Australian Open finalist Marcos Baghdatis in the summit clash.
