Ambuja Cements gains after large bulk deal

Ambuja Cements rose 1.59% to Rs 201.05 at 14:45 IST on BSE, after a large bulk deal of 90.08 lakh shares was executed on the scrip at Rs 196.80 per share at 12:53 IST on BSE today, 18 December 2015.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 195.53 points or 0.76% at 25,608.25

Bulk deal boosted volume on the scrip. On BSE, so far 96.86 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 3.37 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 202.15 and a low of Rs 194.65 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 187.70 on 11 December 2015. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 286.85 on 3 March 2015.

 

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 17 December 2015, falling 0.58% compared with Sensex's 0.23% fall. The stock had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 5.83% as against Sensex's 0.62% fall.

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 310.38 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Ambuja Cements' net profit fell 35.8% to Rs 153.57 crore on 4.2% decline in net sales to Rs 2095.16 crore in Q3 September 2015 over Q3 September 2014.

Ambuja Cements is engaged in manufacturing and marketing cement and clinker for both domestic and exports.
