Australian equity market finished session higher on Friday, 06 October 2017, boosted by tracking a strong handover from Wall Street overnight where the S&P 500 hit fresh highs. Most of ASX sectors inclined, with financial and material stocks being notable gainers. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 rose 58.9 points, or 1.04%, to 5,710.7 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index lifted 57.1 points, or one%, to 5,777.4 points. For the week, the benchmark index closed 0.5% higher.
