Auto stocks rise
Auto stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 195.95 points or 1.08% at 18327.27 at 09:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 2.32%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.97%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 1.73%),Eicher Motors Ltd (up 1.23%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 1.1%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 0.93%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.76%), Exide Industries Ltd (up 0.75%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.65%), and Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 0.59%).
On the other hand, Cummins India Ltd (down 0.32%), turned lower.
At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 197.79 or 0.48% at 41019.09.
The Nifty 50 index was up 55.25 points or 0.46% at 12092.95.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 36.06 points or 0.27% at 13447.39.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 11.93 points or 0.26% at 4689.04.
On BSE,859 shares were trading in green, 531 were trading in red and 82 were unchanged.
