Sector performance was mixed, with banking stocks posted strong gains, but resources and property shares fell. The Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.4% to 3,378.47. The Shenzhen Composite Index and the start-up board index ChiNext fell 1.5% and 2.3% to trade at 2,005.95 and 1,882.69 respectively.
