Consumer goods shares rise

Consumer goods stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index rising 15.38 points or 0.42% at 3651.83 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Nitco Ltd (up 4.98%), Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.74%),Sintex Industries Ltd (up 4.72%),Cox & Kings Ltd (up 4.08%),Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd (up 4.04%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd (up 4.01%), Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (up 3.47%), Sobha Ltd (up 3.05%), Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd (up 3.02%), and Prestige Estates Projects Ltd (up 2.84%).

 

On the other hand, Alok Industries Ltd (down 4.83%), Talwalkars Healthclubs Ltd (down 3.78%), and Jindal Worldwide Ltd (down 3.21%) moved lower.

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 70.18 or 0.17% at 40920.47.

The Nifty 50 index was up 19.9 points or 0.17% at 12063.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 20.44 points or 0.15% at 13473.23.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 2.66 points or 0.06% at 4731.72.

On BSE,813 shares were trading in green, 562 were trading in red and 75 were unchanged.
