Currency In Circulation Expands Marginally By 0.2% On Weekly Basis

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) reported that currency in circulation expanded by 0.2% on the week to stand at Rs 23.10 lakh crore as on 31st January 2020. The central bank noted further that the overall reserve money also rose 0.5% on the week to Rs 29.37 lakh crore. Currency in circulation rose around 12.10% on a year ago basis compared to 18.5% spurt at the same time last year. In the current fiscal, the currency in circulation has grown by 8.2% so far while the reserve money expanded by 6%.
