Eight core infrastructure sector growth eases to 1.8% in January 2015

Cumulative growth stands at 4.1% in April-January 2014-15
The index of Eight Core Infrastructure Industries rose at moderate pace of 1.8% January 2015, compared with 2.4% growth recorded in December 2014. Meanwhile, the cumulative growth stood at 4.1% in April-January 2014-15.Coal production increased 1.7% in January 2015 over January 2014. Its cumulative index during April to January, 2014-15 increased 8.1% over corresponding period of previous year.
Crude Oil production declined 2.3% in January 2015 over January 2014. The cumulative index of Crude Oil during April to January, 2014-15 declined 1.0% over the corresponding period of previous year.
The Natural Gas production declined 6.6% in January 2015. Its cumulative index during April to January, 2014-15 declined 5.2% over the corresponding period of previous year.
Petroleum Refinery production increased 4.7% in January 2015. Its cumulative index during April to January, 2014-15 increased 0.7% over the corresponding period of previous year.

Fertilizer production increased 7.1% in January 2015. Its cumulative index during April to January, 2014-15 declined 0.5% over the corresponding period of previous year.
Steel production increased 1.6% in January 2015. Its cumulative index during April to January, 2014-15 increased 1.6% over the corresponding period of previous year.
Cement production increased 0.5% in January 2015. Its cumulative growth during April to January, 2014-15 was 7.1% over the corresponding period of previous year.
Electricity generation increased 2.7% in January 2015 and it registered a cumulative growth of 8.9% during April to January 2014-15 over the corresponding period of previous year.
