Net inflow of Rs 1214.80 crore on 12 May 2014
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1214.80 crore on Monday, 12 May 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 1262.30 crore on Friday, 9 May 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 1214.80 crore on Monday, 12 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4600.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 3385.30.
The entire FII inflow on Monday, 12 May 2014, was into the secondary equity markets and there was no FII activity reported in the primary market segment. The S&P BSE Sensex had surged 556.77 points or 2.42% to settle at 23,551 on that day, a record closing high for the barometer index.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 4601.70 crore in this month so far (till 12 May 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 9602.40 crore in April 2014.
