Financials shares ease
Financials stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index falling 128.4 points or 3.1% at 4008.16 at 13:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, RBL Bank Ltd (down 13.25%), Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (down 10%),Equitas Holdings Ltd (down 9.88%),Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd (down 9.21%),Max Financial Services Ltd (down 8.59%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Capri Global Capital Ltd (down 6.94%), ICICI Bank Ltd (down 6.81%), DCB Bank Ltd (down 6.62%), IndusInd Bank Ltd (down 6.41%), and Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd (down 6.05%).
On the other hand, Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd (up 9.8%), IIFL Finance Ltd (up 5%), and Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd (up 4.99%) moved up.
At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 395.02 or 1.4% at 27870.29.
The Nifty 50 index was down 69.15 points or 0.84% at 8184.65.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 28.36 points or 0.3% at 9478.55.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 21.6 points or 0.64% at 3344.93.
On BSE,1112 shares were trading in green, 927 were trading in red and 158 were unchanged.
