Financials shares fall
Financials stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index falling 641.79 points or 13.96% at 3957 at 13:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (down 29.03%), Axis Bank Ltd (down 24.99%),Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd (down 24.83%),Equitas Holdings Ltd (down 24.42%),Bandhan Bank Ltd (down 23.93%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Max Financial Services Ltd (down 23.54%), IndusInd Bank Ltd (down 23.45%), Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd (down 22.95%), Federal Bank Ltd (down 21.48%), and ICICI Securities Ltd (down 20%).
On the other hand, Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (up 7.85%), moved up.
At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 3471.41 or 11.6% at 26444.55.
The Nifty 50 index was down 969.65 points or 11.09% at 7775.8.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 1104.93 points or 10.93% at 9008.43.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 413.25 points or 11.36% at 3225.36.
On BSE,217 shares were trading in green, 1895 were trading in red and 120 were unchanged.
