Financials shares fall

Financials stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Finance index falling 24.56 points or 0.55% at 4410.58 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, CreditAccess Grameen Ltd (down 5%), Reliance Capital Ltd (down 4.92%),AU Small Finance Bank Ltd (down 4.48%),DCB Bank Ltd (down 4.43%),Reliance Home Finance Ltd (down 4.35%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were AAVAS Financiers Ltd (down 4.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (down 3.84%), ICICI Bank Ltd (down 3.48%), South Indian Bank Ltd (down 2.87%), and Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd (down 2.76%).

On the other hand, Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd (up 6.18%), ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd (up 5%), and Alankit Ltd (up 5%) moved up.

 

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 220.13 or 0.7% at 31862.83.

The Nifty 50 index was up 75.5 points or 0.82% at 9327.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 33.26 points or 0.31% at 10671.96.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 34.03 points or 0.91% at 3790.89.

On BSE,1150 shares were trading in green, 1057 were trading in red and 181 were unchanged.
