Financials stocks slide
Financials stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 156.77 points or 2.44% at 6256.79 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 30.3%), Indiabulls Ventures Ltd (down 19.98%),Yes Bank Ltd (down 13.42%),Reliance Capital Ltd (down 11.96%),Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd (down 9.89%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were RBL Bank Ltd (down 9.85%), SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd (down 8.5%), L&T Finance Holdings Ltd (down 7.78%), Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (down 7.34%), and IndusInd Bank Ltd (down 6.81%).
On the other hand, New India Assurance Company Ltd (up 3.78%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (up 3.03%), and Religare Enterprises Ltd (up 2.53%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 326.67 or 0.84% at 38495.9.
The Nifty 50 index was down 87.55 points or 0.76% at 11424.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 195.21 points or 1.46% at 13136.72.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 66.23 points or 1.48% at 4418.17.
On BSE,598 shares were trading in green, 1747 were trading in red and 136 were unchanged.
