FMCG shares gain

FMCG stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index rising 54.63 points or 0.47% at 11790.29 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd (up 2.9%), Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (up 2.75%),Eveready Industries India Ltd (up 2.65%),G M Breweries Ltd (up 2.46%),Globus Spirits Ltd (up 2.34%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were S H Kelkar & Company Ltd (up 2.24%), ITC Ltd (up 2.04%), Heritage Foods Ltd (up 1.98%), CCL Products (India) Ltd (up 1.85%), and Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (up 1.73%).

 

On the other hand, Mcleod Russel India Ltd (down 2.72%), Emami Ltd (down 2.17%), and Nestle India Ltd (down 1.89%) moved lower.

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 40.89 or 0.1% at 38948.85.

The Nifty 50 index was down 14.1 points or 0.12% at 11557.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 13.92 points or 0.1% at 13426.57.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 14.37 points or 0.32% at 4502.82.

On BSE,771 shares were trading in green, 662 were trading in red and 60 were unchanged.
