Power stocks edge higher

Power stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Power index increasing 2.05 points or 0.11% at 1942.91 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, ABB India Ltd (up 4.49%), NTPC Ltd (up 0.86%),Adani Transmission Ltd (up 0.54%),Siemens Ltd (up 0.45%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 0.39%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were NHPC Ltd (up 0.22%), K E C International Ltd (up 0.18%), and JSW Energy Ltd (up 0.08%).

On the other hand, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 2.43%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 1.72%), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1%) turned lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 40.89 or 0.1% at 38948.85.

The Nifty 50 index was down 14.1 points or 0.12% at 11557.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 13.92 points or 0.1% at 13426.57.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 14.37 points or 0.32% at 4502.82.

On BSE,771 shares were trading in green, 662 were trading in red and 60 were unchanged.
