FPIs turn buyers

Net inflow of Rs 1171.84 crore on 1 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) purchased stocks worth a net Rs 1171.84 crore into the secondary equity markets on 1 February 2018, compared with net outflow of Rs 264.22 crore on 31 January 2018. On 1 February 2018, the Sensex fell 58.36 points or 0.16% to settle at 35,906.66, its lowest closing level since 22 January 2018.
The net inflow of Rs 1171.84 crore into the secondary equity markets on 1 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 7713.19 crore and gross sales of Rs 6541.35 crore.
There was an outflow of Rs 6 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 1 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 8.01 crore and gross sales of Rs 14.01 crore.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018. They sold stocks worth a net Rs 3345.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 146.02 crore from the primary market & others' category in January 2018. They sold stocks worth a net Rs 2537.66 crore into the primary market & others' category in December 2017.
