Net outflow of Rs 62.73 crore on 2 February 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have sold stocks worth a net Rs 62.73 crore on 2 February 2016, compared with net inflow of Rs 403.91 crore during the preceding trading session.
The net outflow of Rs 62.73 crore from the secondary equity markets on 2 February 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4102.11 crore and gross sales of Rs 4164.84 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex lost 285.83 points or 1.15% to settle at 24,539, its lowest closing level since 28 January 2016.
There was a net outflow of Rs 3.24 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 2 February 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.21 crore and gross sales of Rs 3.45 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 1027.41 crore from the secondary equity markets this month so far (till 2 February 2016). FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 10181.93 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
