India Consumer Price Inflation Eases In March

India's consumer price inflation eased to 5.91 percent in March from 6.58 percent in February, data from the National Statistical Office showed Monday. However, in the same period last year, consumer prices rose only 2.86 percent. Likewise, food price inflation slowed to 8.76 percent from 10.81 percent a month ago. Food prices advanced 0.3 percent in March 2019. On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.27 percent and food prices were down 1.27 percent in March.
