Information Technology stocks edge marginally lower
Information Technology stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index decreasing 112.74 points or 0.73% at 15353.49 at 13:47 IST.
Barring IT stocks, buying remained broad based. Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, HCL Infosystems Ltd (down 4.8%), Accelya Solutions India Ltd (down 4.11%),Infosys Ltd (down 3.44%),D-Link India Ltd (down 3.43%),CESC Ventures Ltd (down 3.34%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Kellton Tech Solutions Ltd (down 3.21%), NIIT Ltd (down 3.06%), Cigniti Technologies Ltd (down 2.79%), Expleo Solutions Ltd (down 2.4%), and Cerebra Integrated Technologies Ltd (down 2.02%).
On the other hand, Birlasoft Ltd (up 7.83%), Tata Elxsi Ltd (up 3.46%), and 63 Moons Technologies Ltd (up 3.09%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 202.2 or 0.53% at 38329.28.
The Nifty 50 index was up 63.6 points or 0.56% at 11368.65.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 58.8 points or 0.46% at 12830.87.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 32.99 points or 0.76% at 4357.93.
On BSE,1229 shares were trading in green, 1117 were trading in red and 208 were unchanged.
