Metal shares under pressure

Metal stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Metal index falling 26.63 points or 0.27% at 9997.41 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, Vedanta Ltd (down 2.26%), National Aluminium Company Ltd (down 0.83%),Steel Authority of India Ltd (down 0.73%),Tata Steel Ltd (down 0.51%),Hindalco Industries Ltd (down 0.37%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were JSW Steel Ltd (down 0.08%), and Coal India Ltd (down 0.03%).

On the other hand, NMDC Ltd (up 3.34%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (up 2.53%), and Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 0.19%) moved up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 104.56 or 0.25% at 41663.13.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 25.05 points or 0.2% at 12246.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 10.54 points or 0.08% at 13397.67.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 8.5 points or 0.18% at 4702.01.

On BSE,1094 shares were trading in green, 1183 were trading in red and 182 were unchanged.
