Metal shares fall

Metal stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Metal index falling 113.62 points or 1.21% at 9282.29 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, Steel Authority of India Ltd (down 3.3%), Coal India Ltd (down 2.02%),Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (down 1.85%),Tata Steel Ltd (down 1.82%),NMDC Ltd (down 1.67%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were National Aluminium Company Ltd (down 1.43%), JSW Steel Ltd (down 0.86%), and Vedanta Ltd (down 0.74%).

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 0.34%), moved up.

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 12.05 or 0.03% at 40663.69.

 

The Nifty 50 index was down 10.5 points or 0.09% at 11988.6.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 10.72 points or 0.08% at 13403.71.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 12.52 points or 0.27% at 4684.57.

On BSE,1079 shares were trading in green, 1281 were trading in red and 192 were unchanged.
