Oil and Gas stocks gain
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 45.25 points or 0.3% at 15214.05 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 1.83%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.99%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 0.97%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.68%),Castrol India Ltd (up 0.65%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.61%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 0.51%), and Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.05%).
On the other hand, GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.02%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.57%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 1.79 or 0% at 40321.82.
The Nifty 50 index was down 3.45 points or 0.03% at 11904.7.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 24.38 points or 0.18% at 13499.13.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 15.67 points or 0.34% at 4662.77.
On BSE,863 shares were trading in green, 644 were trading in red and 84 were unchanged.
