Oil and Gas shares gain

Oil and Gas stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index rising 297.05 points or 2.03% at 14939.18 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 5.95%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 5.81%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 4.04%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.89%),Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.87%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.53%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 0.37%), and Castrol India Ltd (up 0.04%).

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 0.3%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.29%) moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 18.64 or 0.05% at 38685.97.

The Nifty 50 index was up 24.05 points or 0.21% at 11498.5.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 12.98 points or 0.1% at 13157.78.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 5.41 points or 0.12% at 4428.12.

On BSE,789 shares were trading in green, 630 were trading in red and 69 were unchanged.
