Power shares slide

Power stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 27.91 points or 1.47% at 1871.29 at 13:50 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 3.34%), NTPC Ltd (down 2.28%),Adani Transmission Ltd (down 1.78%),Thermax Ltd (down 0.88%),JSW Energy Ltd (down 0.82%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 0.79%), and Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 0.51%).

On the other hand, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (up 6.35%), Siemens Ltd (up 1.79%), and Adani Power Ltd (up 1.31%) moved up.

At 13:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 78.43 or 0.21% at 37147.36.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 14.6 points or 0.13% at 10962.9.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 40.39 points or 0.32% at 12470.89.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 17.57 points or 0.42% at 4223.7.

On BSE,1146 shares were trading in green, 1150 were trading in red and 137 were unchanged.
