Utilties shares fall

Utilties stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Utilities index falling 22.04 points or 1.23% at 1763.54 at 13:50 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Rattanindia Power Ltd (down 5.88%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 3.34%),KSK Energy Ventures Ltd (down 3.23%),NTPC Ltd (down 2.28%),Adani Transmission Ltd (down 1.78%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (down 1.25%), A2Z Infra Engineering Ltd (down 1.22%), JSW Energy Ltd (down 0.82%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (down 0.66%), and GAIL (India) Ltd (down 0.27%).
On the other hand, Reliance Power Ltd (up 8.75%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (up 6.35%), and NLC India Ltd (up 5.13%) moved up.
At 13:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 78.43 or 0.21% at 37147.36.
The Nifty 50 index was up 14.6 points or 0.13% at 10962.9.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 40.39 points or 0.32% at 12470.89.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 17.57 points or 0.42% at 4223.7.
On BSE,1146 shares were trading in green, 1150 were trading in red and 137 were unchanged.
