Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index falls 2.94%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.36%

Nifty Auto index ended down 2.94% at 9375.3 today. The index has slipped 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd shed 6.61%, Eicher Motors Ltd fell 6.12% and TVS Motor Company Ltd dropped 4.08%. The Nifty Auto index has fallen 14.00% over last one year compared to the 10.13% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Consumption index has dropped 2.31% and Nifty IT index has slid 1.87% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 1.36% to close at 10858.25 while the SENSEX has dropped 1.51% to close at 35975.63 today.
