Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index falls 6.09%, NIFTY Crashes 2.42%

Nifty Auto index closed down 6.09% at 5180.5 today. The index has slipped 33.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Ashok Leyland Ltd dropped 25.21%, Bharat Forge Ltd fell 12.10% and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd slipped 9.96%. The Nifty Auto index has fallen 39.00% over last one year compared to the 28.28% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index has dropped 5.41% and Nifty MNC index has slid 5.40% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 2.42% to close at 8263.45 while the SENSEX has slid 2.01% to close at 28288.23 today.
