Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index gains 4.39%

Nifty Auto index ended up 4.39% at 11359.5 today. The index has gained 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd rose 6.27%, Hero MotoCorp Ltd jumped 5.93% and Eicher Motors Ltd added 5.87%. The Nifty Auto index has soared 7.00% over last one year compared to the 0.83% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Consumption index gained 2.06% and Nifty IT index gained 1.96% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.93% to close at 15556.65 while the SENSEX increased 0.86% to close at 52265.72 today.
