Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index falls 3.93%

Nifty Energy index closed down 3.93% at 24122.85 today. The index has slipped 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd dropped 13.53%, Reliance Industries Ltd shed 7.20% and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd added 3.23%. The Nifty Energy index has soared 22.00% over last one year compared to the 0.46% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index gained 2.82% and Nifty PSE index has dropped 2.30% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.18% to close at 15752.05 while the SENSEX has slid 0.21% to close at 52907.93 today.
