Quick Wrap: Nifty Financial Services Index rises 4.00%, NIFTY jumps 2.11%

Nifty Financial Services index closed up 4.00% at 12563.65 today. The index is down 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd gained 8.38%, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd jumped 6.07% and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd rose 5.12%. The Nifty Financial Services index is up 8.00% over last one year compared to the 4.32% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index added 3.74% and Nifty Bank index increased 3.68% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 2.11% to close at 11057.85 while the SENSEX added 2.16% to close at 37494.12 today.
