Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index rises 3.06%, NIFTY jumps 1.39%

Nifty IT index closed up 3.06% at 14658.5 today. The index is down 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Infibeam Avenues Ltd gained 9.56%, Wipro Ltd rose 5.52% and Tech Mahindra Ltd added 3.88%. The Nifty IT index is up 22.00% over last one year compared to the 1.35% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index added 2.14% and Nifty Realty index increased 1.79% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.39% to close at 10886.8 while the SENSEX added 1.30% to close at 36318.33 today.
