Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 7.50%, NIFTY Tumbles 4.90%

Nifty Metal index ended down 7.50% at 2020.05 today. The index is down 25.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Welspun Corp Ltd slipped 19.94%, Vedanta Ltd fell 14.54% and NMDC Ltd shed 10.98%. The Nifty Metal index is down 31.00% over last one year compared to the 5.29% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index is down 6.65% and Nifty Energy index has slid 6.46% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 4.90% to close at 10451.45 while the SENSEX is down 5.17% to close at 35634.95 today.
