Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 2.03%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 2.03% at 3215.95 today. The index is up 13.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Indian Bank gained 4.08%, Bank of India rose 2.84% and Bank of Baroda added 2.77%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is up 30.00% over last one year compared to the 0.21% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index added 1.26% and Nifty FMCG index gained 1.07% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.52% to close at 17622.25 while the SENSEX added 0.51% to close at 59141.23 today.
