Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 2.26%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 2.26% at 2933.55 today. The index is up 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of Baroda added 4.15%, Punjab & Sind Bank rose 3.33% and Bank of Maharashtra gained 3.17%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is up 26.00% over last one year compared to the 8.00% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index added 1.46% and Nifty IT index gained 1.16% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.67% to close at 17944.25 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.70% to close at 60260.13 today.
