Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 2.83%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 2.83% at 2316.05 today. The index is down 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, UCO Bank gained 5.30%, Bank of Baroda jumped 3.97% and State Bank of India rose 3.52%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is down 22.00% over last one year compared to the 9.72% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index added 1.57% and Nifty Pharma index increased 1.26% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.40% to close at 12137.95 while the SENSEX added 0.35% to close at 41287.04 today.
