Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 3.85%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 3.85% at 2506.3 today. The index is up 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Central Bank of India gained 9.35%, State Bank of India jumped 7.76% and Syndicate Bank added 7.26%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is down 14.00% over last one year compared to the 14.35% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index added 3.35% and Nifty Realty index added 1.18% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.28% to close at 11877.45 while the SENSEX added 0.19% to close at 40129.05 today.
