Shares of six companies rose by 0.03% to 7.48% at 14:00 IST on BSE after the NSE notified that the futures and options contracts will be available for trading on their securities from 26 February 2016.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 22.83 points or 0.09% at 24,594.14.
Indo Count Industries (up 0.03%), PC Jeweller (up 2.11%), Tata Elxsi (up 0.05%), Granules India (up 7.48%), United Spirits (up 0.32%) and KPIT Technologies (up 1.24%) gained. Cummins India declined 1.89%.
The NSE has notified on Friday, 5 February 2016 that the futures and options contracts will be available for trading on additional seven securities namely; Indo Count Industries, PC Jeweller, Tata Elxsi, Granules India, Cummins India, United Spirits and KPIT Technologies from 26 February 2016.
The NSE said that market lot, scheme of strikes and quantity freeze limit of these securities shall be informed to members on 25 February 2016 through a separate circular.
Typically, stocks that enter the F&O segment gain ground due to absence of circuit filters and increase in institutional participation due to improved liquidity.
