Utilties stocks edge lower

Utilties stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Utilities index decreasing 10.08 points or 0.55% at 1826.7 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 2.53%), GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd (down 2.27%),GAIL (India) Ltd (down 2.05%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 1.95%),Mahanagar Gas Ltd (down 1.27%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NTPC Ltd (down 0.79%), Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (down 0.63%), BF Utilities Ltd (down 0.56%), Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (down 0.49%), and NLC India Ltd (down 0.44%).
On the other hand, Reliance Power Ltd (up 4.97%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.91%), and Rattanindia Power Ltd (up 4.35%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 133.27 or 0.33% at 40603.05.
The Nifty 50 index was up 33 points or 0.28% at 11999.05.

On BSE,1239 shares were trading in green, 1097 were trading in red and 195 were unchanged.
