10 suspected terrorists arrested in Spain

Ten people were arrested as part of an anti-terrorism operation in Spain's Catalonia region, the regional police said in a statement on Wednesday.

The security forces carried out 13 raids in various locations in the Barcelona metropolitan area, the capital of the northeastern region, and in the nearby Tarragona province, Spanish news agency Efe reported citing the statement.

The arrested stand accused of belonging to a terrorist organisation, among other crimes.

So far this year, 30 people have been arrested in anti-terrorism operations in Spain.
