12 security personnel killed in Afghan suicide attack

At least 12 Afghan security personnel were killed and four injured on Thursday in a suicide attack in Kandahar province, a senior police official said.

"The incident took place in Maroof district. The injured included a police chief," the official told Xinhua news agency.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
